Anthropic launches Claude Design after Opus 4.7 model upgrade

Following two design-related updates earlier this week, Anthropic today announced a new product, Claude Design. The new Claude Design joins an existing suite of Mac tools including Claude Cowork and Claude Code.

Claude Design is Anthropic’s latest research preview

Claude Design, powered by Opus 4.7, is Anthropic’s latest research preview from the Anthropic Labs team.

Anthropic explains how the new product works:

During onboarding, Claude reads the codebase and design files to build the team’s design system. All subsequent projects will automatically use colors, typography, and components. Systems can be refined over time, and teams can maintain multiple systems.

Start with a text prompt and upload an image or document (DOCX, PPTX, XLSX), or provide Claude with your codebase. You can also use web capture tools to capture elements directly from your website to make your prototype look like a real product.

From there, Claude Design includes features to adjust your design work, collaborate with others, and export files. Claude Design work can easily be carried over to Claude Code.

“In the coming weeks, we will make it easier to build integrations with Claude Design so you can connect to more tools your teams are already using,” Anthropic added.

Anthropic says Claude Design is available to Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers. This feature is turned off by default in Enterprise, but can be enabled by your administrator.

The company says the feature will be rolled out gradually over the course of the day.
