Nanoleaf’s smart multicolor ceiling light brings Matter compatibility and voice control.
The device is available in the US and Canada for $79.99, but the company has not confirmed international availability.
Nanoleaf’s fixture is equipped with 19 LEDs across three lighting modes, and in a front-facing configuration, projects 2600 lumens across a room of up to 150 square feet for tasks like cooking and reading. The second mode directs the light towards the ceiling to create ambient lighting for relaxing or watching a movie, while the third mode blends both directions to combine task and mood lighting within the same fixture.
That flexibility extends to color output as well, with the ceiling light offering nearly 16 million color combinations along with a CRI 95 rating for excellent color accuracy under lighting.
Nanoleaf has combined its product range with Matter compatibility, allowing the lights to work with Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home, and SmartThings. This is a breadth of ecosystem support that Philips Skylight cannot match, given the lack of smart hub integration.
Scheduling adds an extra layer of automation, automatically changing your ceiling light’s mode and color output at set times throughout the day without the need for manual adjustments.
Nanoleaf also sells a separate Sense+ switch that uses motion and daylight sensors to further extend ceiling light automation, giving buyers an optional upgrade path beyond standard app-based control.
This ceiling light is designed to be wired directly into your home in place of your existing fixtures, allowing anyone replacing a single central light to easily replace multiple smart lamps.
Against the expensive Philips Skylight, which recreates natural sky-like lighting without matching smart features, Nanoleaf fixtures compete primarily with connected features rather than visuals.
The Nanoleaf Smart Multicolor Ceiling Light is currently available for purchase in the U.S. and Canada for $79.99, but a broader international rollout schedule has not yet been confirmed.
