Earlier last year, Kuxiu released the X33 Pro Max iPad stand. It was the first stand to incorporate a pin connector into a magnetic stand that could charge an iPad. That was a great idea. As a stand, it’s very well built, high quality, does everything you need to do and get the job done, but the fact that I instantly charge an iPad was a game changer in my setup. But now they brought the same technology, but brought it to your car using a magnetically charged iPad stand. This is what you need to know.
Specifications and what’s in the box
Kuxiu provides everything you need to install and install this. Easy to install regardless of the car.
- X97 Pro Max Magnetic Charging Plate
- Rear headrest mount (the one I used)
- Air vent mount clip
- Braided 1M USB-C cable

Secondly, it fits well with the bill in terms of charging and sizing specifications.
- Charge your iPad at 18W when mounted
- Fully adjustable with 65mm telescopic arm and tilt/swivel ball joint
- Works with portraits and landscapes
- Headless rod distances can be between 55mm and 155mm
- The metal plate is covered with leather surfaces to protect the iPad and car seat
Again, you get everything you need and the materials are extremely premium. What I like is that they give you the option to mount it on the headrest and you can mount it on a car vent for someone in the back who wants to use it or upgrade the dash! I was a little worried that the cable was too short, but there was enough slack to plug it in and push the cable away.

My experience
When I got this I had two main questions. My first question was how difficult it is to install this. The second question was how strong these magnets are? The last thing I want is to hit a rough bump and the iPad flies and slams my daughter into the face!
install
This part was simple. This was for rear seat passengers, so I went with a headrest mount instead of an air vent. The rear headrest mount uses spring-loaded clamps so you don’t have to mess with screws or tools. It probably took me less than 60 seconds to get this setup. The clamps were first installed, then the metal plate was installed with a ball joint. So I put it there and adjusted it to the desired angle before tightening. It’s easy, simple and quick.

How did you use it
My idea about this was to use it for road trips. We tend to drive from New Jersey to Florida a few times a year, and we’re 3 years old. We try to distract her as much as possible, but some screen times for the two-day road trip are inevitable. I’m not against screen time, but I’m not just a fan of handing over the iPad to toddlers and letting them do whatever they want. So, she still managed to watch her blue and other Disney movies, so I thought this mount was perfect, but the iPad wouldn’t be in her hands. This avoids constant interaction with the iPad and keeps it at the right eye level. So she looks down and doesn’t cause any strain on her neck. As a parent, it makes me feel a little more controllable.
There is no fear of an iPad popping up. The magnets of this are very strong. I used it on my M4 iPad Pro and didn’t worry about it falling down. They were doing their job too well with the strength of the magnet.
Also, depending on the current car infotainment system, I think the iPad Car Dash use case will be cool here. If someone has a slightly older car and wants to bring the 2025 technology to the dash, this would be a great use case. Combine it with cellular data on your iPad, and Google Maps and Spotify may be running on your iPad via your car.
Pricing, compatibility, availability
The Kuxiu X97 Magnetic Car Mount is on sale today on the Kuxiu site for $79, typically $109. Now, check out the chart below for compatibility.

Some iPads have different magnet arrays, so use the site’s drop-down menu to select the correct iPad. For example, the M3 iPad Air version works on older iPad Pros, but not on the M4 iPad Pros. So, just something to keep in mind.
Final Take
Like I said at the beginning, Kuxiu nailed this magnetic charging stand form factor with the X33 Pro Max. Now they bring all that technology into your car and keep charging while using your iPad in your car. Whether you’re a parent who wants to entertain their kids on the go or someone who wants a high-end tablet experience in the car, the Kuxiu X97 is definitely worth considering.
