BBC Proms debut now on Apple TV

If you have an Apple Vision Pro and haven’t been to the majestic Royal Albert Hall, you should try it out for yourself. Open the Apple TV app on your device and set aside 35 minutes to watch the BBC Proms debut.

In this program, Austrian pianist Lukas Starnat will perform Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor with the BBC Symphony Orchestra led by Finnish conductor Sakari Oramo.

The concert was filmed last year and marked Starnas’ debut at the legendary BBC Proms, one of the most prestigious classical music events of the last century.

According to the BBC:

Filmed at the iconic Royal Albert Hall during the 2025 Proms season, the experience takes viewers into the heart of the stage and orchestra. Audiences can watch the performance just inches from the pianist’s hands, be surrounded by the full force of a spatial audio orchestra, and immerse themselves in the grand atmosphere of one of the world’s most historic concert venues.

The BBC also said the endeavor was “the result of the BBC’s innovative research and development work, supported by Apple”, adding that the intention of the BBC Proms debut was to “explore how emerging technologies can bring the best of art and culture to more people”.
