The Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch has been in Wi-Fi format for some time, but the newer version boasts Z-Wave Connectivity.
Yale guarantees a lock 2 touch with the ADT+ Z-Wave. This is a new ADT+ system launched mid-last year, and as the name suggests, it offers a complete moniker of meat.
It is the first lock to support the Z-Wave User Credentials command class, and is said to be able to unlock and disarm the ADT+ security system with a fingerprint.
The new lock, part of the Z-Wave 800 series, can also disarm and play ADT+ security systems simultaneously without phone or PIN required.
The lock connects directly to the ADT+ base, skips normal intermediaries such as third-party hubs and bridges, and enables features such as fingerprint unlocking, keypad entries, app-based controls, and reliable neighborhood access.
The latter now works with fingerprints too. This means that dog sitters and neighbors can safely allow themselves without the need for code or apps.
Lock is part of a major update that will be deployed in version 3.6, an ADT+ app that introduces new Home & Away features.
Geofencing lets you know if you’re at home and automatically adjust your system. Lock your doors, arm security, adjust the lights, adjust other smart home devices.
The updated app also brings a UI refresh with easier navigation and a more logical placement of features, based on how customers actually use the app.
$279.99, not cheap, but if you’re already using ADT+ for home security, this lock makes a lot of sense.
