‘Trying’ Season 5 now available on Apple TV
Apple TV’s “Trying” premiered in 2020 without much fanfare, but quickly became a fan favorite.
The show, which starred Esther Smith (Hold Your Breath) and Rafe Spall (Shaun of the Dead), concluded its fourth season in July 2024, but fans had to wait until May 2025 to finally confirm its return for season five.
The season premiere episode is now available to Apple TV subscribers, and new episodes will premiere every Wednesday through August 26th.
Here’s what fans can expect from the new season of Trying, according to Apple TV.
Season 5 will see Nicky (Smith) and Jason (Spoll) deal with the arrival of Kat (Charlotte Riley), Princess and Tyler’s biological mother, on their doorstep and the disruption she brings to their otherwise settled family life.
The season’s cast also includes Darren Boyd (Down Cemetery Road), Sian Brook (Blue Lights), Celia Imrie (Thursday Murder Club), Phil Davies (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince), Gbemisola Ikumelo (Black Ops) and Colin Morgan (Belfast).
