This is my iPad Mini EDC – my must-haves

As a home tech dad, I’m responsible for making sure I have everything I need when I go out, whether it’s a weekend getaway, a day at the park, or just a long afternoon of errands. At the center of this is my iPad mini 7. This is your device for everything: work, content, notes, games, and even apps for your kids. Around that, we’ve built a setup that’s perfect for carrying around every day so your whole family is powered, connected, and ready to go. This time I will introduce the accessories that I often use!

If you would like to see a hands-on video of all the products mentioned here and more, be sure to watch the video below.

Let’s start with the bag itself. This is the core element that makes this possible. It’s the perfect size, just enough to carry everything from tech to lipstick to diapers, but not too big to be too nimble.

  • Magnetic fidlock closure with satisfying snap
  • Detachable strap and expandable main compartment
  • Made of durable “Grizzly” leather
  • Slim yet comfortably fits iPad mini, charger, and cables

It’s functional luxury at its finest. High quality, simple and effective.

For me, this is a non-negotiable whenever I leave the house. If you’re part of the Apple ecosystem, there’s nothing like it. It offers amazing sound, smarter features, and even includes health tracking with a heart rate sensor.

  • 2x more powerful noise cancellation than Gen 2
  • Live translation + built-in heart rate monitor
  • Compact MagSafe charging case
  • ANC perfect for traveling and commuting

The AirPods Pro Gen 2 are currently on sale for $169, making them a great value. But if you want the absolute best, the AirPods Pro 3 are the way to go.

The heart of my EDC. iPad mini 7 offers the perfect balance of power and portability. I use it for everything from gaming, cooking, work, reading, etc. Perfect for EDC when combined with Apple Pencil Pro and ESR case. This is my iPad Mini 7 setup

Of course, my main computer is actually an iPad Pro 13. But this iPad mini is something we all share.

This is self-explanatory. I wanted a compact wall charger that was small, slim, discreet, and had a foldable prong. Now all those boxes are checked.

  • Dual USB-C ports with smart power distribution
  • Compact and low-profile wall-mounted design
  • Up to 67W total PD fast charging
  • Perfect for iPad, MacBook and chargers

I’ve seen cables like this before, but I wasn’t very impressed with them. When I finally picked it up, I understood its appeal. No more tangled cables.

  • 100W fast charging support
  • 480Gbps data transfer
  • magnetic coil for storage
  • Durable braided construction

It’s very easy to roll up and store. No need to use extra clips or Velcro or bundle up and mess up cables.

Anker 35W Power Bank (with Apple Watch Charger)

Yes, this is a mouthful, but this is the most used and most convenient portable charger I’ve ever owned. The design combined with display and size is outstanding.

  • Built-in Apple Watch pack and USB-C cable
  • LCD display shows battery and output speed
  • Dual charging (input and output)
  • 10,000mAh capacity
  • Can be charged up to 30W

final take

Please check out the video. I also mentioned a few more sleeper picks that I didn’t mention here. But these are my go-to items that I always take with me when I leave the house. You might also include wipes and a diaper or two if you need them.
