These are our early 2026 favorites for EDC iPhone technology accessories

Lately, I’ve been leaning more and more towards sling-based EDC. As a husband to an engineer and a father of two, I always find myself needing more space than I can fit in my pockets, but I don’t necessarily want to carry an entire backpack with me. Crossbody slings (once called fanny packs) have become the perfect middle ground. It’s more flexible than a standard pocket setup, yet forces you to be intentional about what you carry. I wanted to share some of my favorite and best tech accessories that I carry with me most days, whether it’s running to and from meetings, running errands, traveling, or working from anywhere. This is my ideal everyday carry crossbody sling.

Check out the EDC video! This video covers more than just the items in this article.

Of course, you have to start with the sling itself. Over the past few months, I’ve used more than a dozen different slings, ranging from small leather slings to large collapsible ones to nylon ones. UAG slings are the perfect middle ground between size, capacity, weight, and materials. Rated to hold up to 1 liter, it’s minimal but can hold a surprising amount of stuff. The main specifications are:

  • Capacity 1 liter
  • Durable and water-resistant nylon construction
  • Adjustable strap with secure buckle
  • Dual zippered compartments
  • Hidden AirTag pocket and built-in key clip

What I really like is how practical it is every day. It’s comfortable to wear cross-body, doesn’t flap around when you walk, and has enough structure to protect everything without being too stiff. The main pocket is lined with microfiber to protect items such as your iPhone. The other compartment has multiple pockets to store items of different sizes and shapes.

The UAG Sling sells for $49 on Amazon. It doesn’t strive for anything more than what it currently has, and it turns out to be very well made.

This is one of the most unique items in my sling and definitely one of my favorites. I actually saw this item at CES in January 2025 and fell in love with it at first sight. This is an ultra-compact SSD built for iPhone photo and video capture. Plug the Planck SSD directly into your USB-C port and instantly add external storage to your phone that works seamlessly with ProRes and logging. Here’s what you get:

  • Up to 2TB storage
  • Transfer speeds up to 1050 MB/s
  • Supports ProRes and logging
  • Ultra small and weighs only 10g

What makes this special is not just its small size, but how fast and frictionless the experience is. It works even with the case on, is instantly recognized, and allows you to record for hours without worrying about internal storage limitations. Planck SSDs start at $189 and work with any computer, cell phone, camera, or game console.

There are now thousands of different MagSafe battery packs. They all charge your device at a constant rate, but the main difference is their size and built-in portable stand. But the Kuxiu B10 Magsafe pack has features we’ve never seen before. Equipped with double-sided MagSafe magnet. This allows you to magnetically attach the battery to your phone or attach other MagSafe accessories to the other side of the battery. So simple, yet so genius! The main specifications to consider are:

  • 5,000mAh capacity
  • Qi2 wireless charging up to 15W
  • USB-C wired charging up to 20W
  • Ultra-thin aluminum body
  • Secondary MagSafe ring for additional accessories

Kuxiu B10 is also only $38. I cannot recommend this battery more highly.

This was a pleasant surprise. I recently reviewed the M4 Snap-On and loved it. It’s an ultra-compact Bluetooth-enabled iPhone control that turns your iPhone into a full-fledged handheld gaming device without the need for a bulky grip or full controller. It’s also modular, making it easy to adapt to any size EDC. Here are some of the main specifications:

  • Modular snap-on MagSafe design
  • Bluetooth connection
  • Works with iPhone, iPad, Nintendo Switch, etc.
  • integrated kickstand
  • Approximately 12 hours battery life

For only $49, it’s great to have this on the go. I used it for many hours on a recent flight and it made my flight much faster. It also comes in fun, nostalgic Game Boy themed colors such as Atomic Purple.

The UAG Sling has a secret AirTag pocket, and since Apple just updated the AirTag, I felt I needed to feature it here. Very useful for tracking your package. AirTag has been updated to make it even better in important ways. The speakers are louder, reach farther, and you can even see the AirTag syncing with your Apple Watch. Right now, you can buy a 4-pack from Amazon for just $69 instead of $99 from Apple.

final thoughts

As I mentioned at the beginning, I feel that sling bags are a good middle ground. You can bring things other than your phone and wallet, but you should still be intentional about the products and accessories you bring. Each product I mentioned was added because it benefits the way I use my iPhone, whether it’s shooting video, consuming content, gaming, or just extending battery life. Be sure to check out my video above to see all the other great items that fit comfortably in the UAG sling.
