The iPhone “boring” era officially ends next week

Apple launches new flagship iPhones every year with a variety of upgrades. But after many years of relatively stagnant innovation in terms of design, the launch of the iPhone 17 launches several years of exciting new innovations that will end the recent era of “boring” iPhones.

iPhone design innovation has been stagnating for a long time, but that era is over

If you’ve followed Apple long enough, you’ll remember days when the new iPhone was more optimistic and exciting.

However, these days, there is still a lot of hype around the iPhone discoveries, but there is growing skepticism and indifference from many consumers.

One reason for this is the lack of a redesign of the hardware that is worthy of attention.

Last year’s iPhone 16 mostly looked like the iPhone 15, with the iPhone 14 before that.

Apple’s less frequent design updates are understandable in products from nearly 20 years ago.

But the result is difficult to answer questions that you get from friends and family. “What’s new about the iPhone this year?”

There are a lot of new features each year, but the fresh design always stands out more than small details like new display technology, different buttons and more.

Luckily, rumors say this recent era of “boring” iPhones will end next week.

iPhone17 Air launches a long-standing new design innovation

At the event next week on September 9th, Apple plans to launch four iPhone 17 models.

Many people are drawn to the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max because of their powerful camera systems, long battery life and other upgrades.

However, the iPhone 17 Air is sure to attract a lot of attention with its ultra-thin, brand new design.

Apple’s new Air model is reportedly measuring 5.55mm thick, making it the thinnest iPhone ever.

Practical impressions using the dummy model are very positive. Unbox Therapy stated that it “feels the future” when the air picks it up, and after holding it, it declared that no one wanted another model.

There are definitely many reasons to pass the air model. That means reduced battery life and only one rear camera. But it’s a kind of exciting new design we’ve never seen in years.

The report shows that it’s just a start for Apple.

Next year will bring Apple’s first foldable model, the iPhone Fold.

With consumer interest in Foldables growing, iPhone Fold could be a huge hit among users.

Then, in 2027, Apple reportedly prepared a special “iPhone 20” model with a unique all-glass design.

The new model marks the 20th anniversary of the iPhone and represents a new leap similar to what the iPhone X brought in in 2017.

Almost 20 years into the life of the iPhone, we seem to be on the brink of a new wave of design innovation.
