Unbox Therapy has released 10 minutes of close-up footage of a dummy unit that matches the look of the increasingly anticipated iPhone Ultra. Check it out below.
It’s dummy unit season
Over the past few weeks, rumors about Apple’s first foldable iPhone have mostly focused on a device with a passport-like aspect ratio when closed and a more tablet-like aspect ratio and experience when opened.
Just a few days ago, reliable leaker Sonny Dixon published a photo of an iPhone Fold dummy unit alongside purported iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max dummy units. mac world We reported that this device is likely to be called iPhone Ultra.
Now, Unbox Therapy has released a 10-minute video showcasing a dummy unit of the iPhone Ultra, giving you a clearer idea of the device’s overall form factor and how it feels in your hand.
Importantly, the hardware itself, including (among other things) the hinge mechanism, is clearly not intended to reflect what Apple will ultimately ship. That’s not the point of the video. Instead, they focus on the physical experience, such as how the device feels when opened and closed, how pocketable it is, how easy it is to access buttons, and details like speaker placement and overall ergonomics.
The video includes detailed measurements of the dummy unit, which measures 117 mm high, 84.27 mm wide, and 11.02 mm thick when closed without the camera bump, but increases to 16.57 mm with the camera bump and approximately 5.2 mm when opened.
It also shows how much the device shakes when placed on a table with the camera facing down, both when opened and closed.
Watch the video below. The video also includes comparisons to other flip phones and current Apple devices.
