Supports Mac DJ software like Spotify Now (again) Djay

Spotify has announced support for popular Mac DJ software such as Djay, Rekordbox and Serato. Simply log in to Spotify from within the DJ app and you can access the entire music catalog, including your own playlists and Spotify-compiled playlists.

The company announced today.

For DJs, there’s no thrill to mix tracks and build the perfect set. Currently, Spotify Premium users will have direct access to the entire library and the entire playlist within Rekordbox, Serato, and Djay desktop DJ software. These integrations are available in 51 markets and are faster and easier than ever to experiment and blend music to create the most memorable sets.

Accessing Spotify is easy, no matter which DJ app you use.

  1. Open the recommended DJ software (Rekordbox, Serato, or Djay) on your desktop.
  2. Log in to your Spotify Premium account in your DJ software.
  3. Pull up your favorite playlists or tracks, from Spotify to mix.
  4. Start mixing in real time using built-in tools in DJ software.

If all of this is somehow familiar, it’s because the company has changed its mind since doing this before. Engadget Please note that Spotify support ended in 2020 over what was considered a rights issue. Whatever the problem is, it’s clearly resolved.

So far, support appears to be limited to desktop apps on Mac and Windows. There is no word on the possibility of expanding to mobile DJ apps.
