“Sugar” is a modern and unique take on one of the most popular and important genres in the history of literature, film and television: the private detective story. Season 2 will see the return of iconic Los Angeles private investigator and movie buff John Sugar, played by Farrell. He remains on Earth in hopes of finding his sister, working on a new disappearance case and searching for his brother, a local up-and-coming boxer.
