Series 11E Case: Here’s why the next Apple Watch SE can have a new name

Apple could potentially introduce the new Apple Watch SE with an awe-inspiring event in just a week. We’ve been calling this device the Apple Watch SE 3 for quite some time, but haven’t asked yet. Is it actually called that?

Rumor summary

The Apple Watch SE 3 provides a light refresh. A new S11 chipset must be introduced. This gives you a moderate performance improvement on Apple’s cheapest Apple Watch models. Currently, the Apple Watch SE packs an S8 chip and uses the core of the A13 bionic chip. The S11 is expected to use the same CPU as the S9 and S10 chips. This means using the core of the A16 bionic chip.

Outside of the chipset, the Apple Watch SE 3 may introduce new display sizes of approximately 1.6 inches and 1.8 inches on both models.

I don’t know what exactly this means, but I might rule out the fact that the Apple Watch SE is moving away from the design language of the Apple Watch Series 4 era. It may look much more similar to the Apple Watch Series 7. That’s just speculation, but there’s precedent, but Apple is introducing a newer design language to its Apple Watch Series 10.

Apple Watch Series 7 vs Series 4 vs Series 3

Finally, there were some rumors that Apple is using plastic casings for its next SE watch. I haven’t heard much lately, but if it’s true, the prices are lower.

Is “se” branding dead?

Well, based solely on the fact that Apple has abandoned SE terms in its iPhone lineup, I think the same is likely to happen with the Apple Watch lineup.

With the original Apple Watch SE, Apple is equipped with an older chipset compared to the high-end Apple Watch Series 6. It is currently equipped with the same chipset.

Switching from the Apple Watch SE to the Apple Watch Series 11E will fit very well with Apple switching all operating systems this year to No. 26. It’s a fun opportunity to like to name simplicity.

The same could happen with the Apple Watch Ultra, but that’s less likely to my mind.

Do you think you’ll see Apple Watch SE branding phased out for more than a week? Please let us know in the comments.
