Roborock Saros 20 debuts at CES 2026 with faster mapping and better positioning

Roborock has announced the Saros 20, its next generation flagship robot vacuum cleaner. This is being presented as a major advance in autonomous home cleaning with faster mapping, improved positioning accuracy, and deeper environmental awareness.

Saros 20 sits at the top of Roborock’s upcoming lineup at CES 2026, which also features F25 Ace, Qrevo Curv 2 Flow, and RockMow X1 LiDAR, and is designed for complex homes with mixed flooring, high thresholds, and dense furniture layouts, where robot cleaning performance is often limited by navigation speed and accuracy.

At the heart of the upgrade is Roborock’s new StarSight Autonomous System 2.0. It replaces traditional LDS navigation with a 3D Time-of-Flight vision system using dual transmitters and solid-state sensing.

Roborock also focuses on physical mobility, equipping the Saros 20 with AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0, which allows it to cross single- and double-layer thresholds of up to 4.5 cm and 4 cm, respectively.

Roborock says the system samples much more frequently than previous laser-based approaches, allowing Saros 20 to create maps more quickly while maintaining accuracy around narrow furniture legs, hanging cabinets, and cluttered spaces.

Improved positioning comes from enhanced obstacle recognition, allowing the robot to identify more than 200 object types and detect objects as small as a few centimeters, reducing collisions and missed areas during cleaning.

Roborock said the Saros 20 can more accurately locate indoors, recover faster after a move, and maintain reliable heading in low-light or sparse visibility environments.

The Saros 20 system is combined with VertiBeam lateral obstacle avoidance, which uses vertical structured light to eliminate lateral blind spots, allowing the robot to clean more closely along walls and irregular furniture edges.

Despite these upgrades, the robot maintains an ultra-slim body of 7.98 cm, allowing it to reach under tight furniture while supporting the movement of a liftable mop, brush, and adaptive chassis.

Cleaning performance is powered by a 35,000Pa HyperForce digital motor, which is the most powerful suction power of any roborock product to date, and features a dual rotating mop with adjustable downward pressure and a dual anti-tangle brush system for homes with lots of pets.

Roborock presents Saros 20 as a comprehensive redefinition of flagship autonomy, combining faster mapping, more reliable positioning, and adaptive hardware for increasingly complex home environments.
