Apple could significantly expand its iPad apps. Apple may soon release four new iPad apps: Pixelmator Pro, MainStage, Motion, and Compressor, according to a new report today. These apps join Apple’s existing pro-level apps Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro, which arrived on the iPad last year.
This discovery was made by mcroomers Contributor Aaron Perris discovered the “new App Store ID” for these new apps.
Compressor is a media encoding and distribution tool used to customize how video and audio are exported. Motion is Apple’s motion graphics tool for creating titles, transitions, and visual effects. Both are companions to the broader Final Cut Pro app.
MainStage, on the other hand, is a Logic Pro companion for live performances and customizing on-stage instrument and vocal setups.
Apple acquired Pixelmator last November. Currently, a less powerful Pixelmator app is available on the iPad. You might think that the Pixelmator Pro app for iPad would be more powerful and more similar to the Mac version of the app.
It is unclear when these apps will be released. If this rumor is true, it could mean a major expansion of Apple’s catalog of pro-level apps for the iPad. This also pairs well with the recently launched M5 iPad Pro.
In an ideal world, Apple would have announced these new iPad apps at the same time as the new hardware, as was the case with last year’s M4 iPad Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Logic Pro. However, Apple’s internal software and hardware teams seem to be completely out of sync regarding these announcements this year.
Will the iPad calculations change if Apple releases iPad versions of Compressor, Motion, MainStage, and Pixelmator Pro? Let us know in the comments.
