One size does not fit all: Our two size options offers a practical solution to a variety of cosmetic needs. Our pack contains 9 silk sponges at 1.5”-2.5” (when wet) and 3 silk sea sponges at 2.5”- 3” (when wet). The smaller sponges are most suitable for using around the eyes while the larger ones on the face.

Mutiple usage options: Perfect for makeup application, removal, cleaning the face & around the eyes and nail care. Use with liquid make up, foundation, powder, toner or cleanser.

Great for Babies too: Their sizes and gentleness on skin mean that our sea sponges are also suitable to use on babies.

Synthetic Sponges Typically Have Artificial Chemicals: Sea sponges, however, contain natural enzymes making them gentle to use on skin. ​The lack of synthetic chemicals makes sea sponges a healthier choice than artifical sponges.

Suitable for Budding Artists: Can also be used in painting and pottery for creating artistic effects.

Easy to store: The sponges are supplied in a useful breathable drawstring bag which can be hung from a suction cup (not included); sponges should be fully dried before storing.

Note: Because sea sponges are natural organisms, they vary by shape, size, cut, color & texture. The sponges you receive may look slightly different from the images and from previous orders.

To care for natural sea sponges, rinse thoroughly after use and let air dry completely.

To freshen, soak sponges occasionally in warm water with baking soda.

Rinse afterwards to ensure all baking soda has washed out completely.

A properly cared for sponge can give many months of use.

Our sponges are responsibly harvested. Harvesting of sponges is done carefully by divers to ensure that the sponge base remains intact. This method encourages natural reproduction and re-growth, often resulting in bigger and healthier than its original state

All sea sponges will degrade with use, regardless of type or brand. While we cannot stop natural wear and tear, we can help extend your enjoyment by providing a multipack of natural sponges.

Common Concerns

Dark Particles / Specks

After harvesting from the ocean, sea sponges are often covered in black slime and contain natural sea debris, such as particles of sand, shell, or other marine materials, embedded in their structure.

Despite careful processing, some particles may remain lodged in the sponge canals, so it is always important to inspect sea sponges prior to use.

These small dark particles, often mistaken for organic remnants or dirt, are natural materials like sea debris or flecks of dried seaweed and are not a cause for concern.

Uneven Coloration / “Burn” Marks:

Sea sponges naturally vary in shape and color. The color variations, which can range from bright yellow to dark grey or orange-brown, result from minerals absorbed from the sea.

These differences are normal and do not indicate inferior quality; they reflect the natural beauty of the sea sponge, and there is no need for concern.

Proper maintenance, such as avoiding prolonged dampness and allowing sponges to air dry naturally after use, is recommended to enhance their longevity and preserve their natural appearance.

Sponge Hardness and Measurements:

When delivered, sea sponges will feel hard and dry and may measure smaller than expected.

Please note that sea sponges are sized when wet and subject to some shrinkage when dried and packaged.

To return them to their natural size, fully saturate sponges with water and squeeze a few times. Once rehydrated, they will become soft and restored back to their full size.
