Vendor Aeibxiy offers this pack of five 10' long charging cables with a USB A connector on one end and a Lightning tip on the other. For us users of older iPhones, this set has lots of nice features. Here is what to like:
1. As the world turns to USB C connectors/ports, USB A and Lightning cables are hard to locate. These are a find.
2. For purists, these cables use the MFi-certified (Made For iPhones) chip… guaranteed to work on specific iPhones.
3. Many folks like the convenience of longer cords, and these come in at a whopping 10' long. Very versatile.
4. The cords are braided and that means they generally stand up better to continuous usage…and last longer.
5. Each end has a long black, flexible collar that helps to reduce the incidents of fraying and cord/head separation.
6. At a price point of only $2 each for an MFi-certified 10' cable, it is a true bargain.
As noted in the photos, we randomly selected one cable (green) and tested how it performed charging an iPhone XS. Once plugged into a power source and the phone unit, the iPhone immediately recognized the cord and began charging the phone. We kept the phone plugged into the charging brick and outlet for one hour to test whether the cord made the brick warmer than usual. It did not. Our only concern/disappointment is that the collars do not appear to have been welded to the cable. If not, then the collars may not be effective in reducing the rate of fraying and separation that many cables exhibit after long and repeated use.
Overall, this set performed well in our testing and a supply of these cables is in our travel tote. They are worth a close look.
