New MacBook with ‘fun colors’ sounds like the best Mac for most people

For years now, the best Mac for most people has been the MacBook Air. But that may be about to change, with the imminent return of the suffix-less MacBook.

Apple’s last MacBook tried to supplant the MacBook Air, but failed.

The last time Apple released a new MacBook was in 2015, when it seemed clearly aimed at dethroning the MacBook Air.

Like the Air, its new MacBook is dedicated to being thin and light, eliminating ports and introducing an all-new look that defines the future of Mac design.

However, although the MacBook gained some loyal fans, it never caught on with the general public. Instead, most users preferred to continue purchasing the cheaper MacBook Air.

But in just a few weeks, Apple will reportedly be launching an all-new MacBook again.

It’s been more than a decade since the last MacBook was introduced, and I think there’s a pretty good chance that this successor will dethrone the MacBook Air and become the new default Mac for many people.

For most people interested in a new computer, whether it’s for school, work, or just personal use, it’s hard to beat a new MacBook.

Part of the reason is price, with the MacBook expected to cost significantly less than the MacBook Air. Analysts predict that the new price could be around $699.

It’s also because of the “fun colors” that make the device stand out. We’ve seen how much color can drive sales with Cosmic Orange on the iPhone 17 Pro.

But that’s mainly because the MacBook does everything most people want it to do.

  • email
  • messaging
  • word processor, spreadsheet, slides
  • and other common computing tasks

Tight integration between MacBook and iPhone is another key selling point, especially for iPhone owners who currently use a PC or Chromebook.

Apple’s A18 Pro chip with an expected 8GB of RAM may not be enough for some, but I doubt the “average consumer” will find this a problem.

It’s very simple. Why would you choose anything else when you can have the most affordable MacBook ever, available in fun colors, and able to do everything you want?

If you’re a long-time Mac user, the next MacBook probably isn’t the computer for you, especially if you consider yourself a “power user.”

But for others? It might be hard to resist the MacBook.

Do you think the new MacBook will be popular? Why or why not? Let us know in the comments.
