The iPhone 17 Pro Max’s best-ever battery has been well-received by users, and we’ve heard for some time that the iPhone 18 Pro Max will come with an even bigger battery. Now, thanks to a new leak, we know just how big it is.
iPhone 18 Pro Max’s battery capacity is even bigger than the current champion

However, it looks like Apple will further extend its lead this fall with the arrival of the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
According to a new post on Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station, Apple’s next model is expected to have a battery capacity of around 5000 mAh for models with a SIM slot and around 5200 mAh for eSIM-only models.
Here’s how it compares to the current champions:
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: 4823 mAh (with SIM slot), 5088 mAh (for eSIM model)
- iPhone 18 Pro Max: ~5000 mAh (with SIM slot), ~5200 mAh (for eSIM models)

The iPhone 18 series will also benefit from the new A20 Pro chip, which is expected to be more power efficient than ever thanks to its cutting-edge 2nm process.
Additionally, the rumored C2 modem in Apple’s new iPhones may also feature battery enhancements, similar to the C1 and C1X in the iPhone 16e and iPhone Air.
Battery life is one of the most important features for the average user, and it looks like Apple intends to continue giving users exactly what they want.
