Unlike its rivals, Amazon allows users to change Alexa Wake Word and add a pinch of variations to their Echo device experience. There’s a bit of a catch as only four different wake words are offered: Ziggy, Amazon, Computer and Echo.
In the past, Amazon has also provided extra voices like celebrities like Santa and Shaquille O’Neal Melissa McCarthyHowever, the five main options available all year round are Alexa, Ziggy, Amazon, Computer and Echo.
With that in mind, this is what you need if another Alexa voice or accent prefers to read weather reports and reminders.
Change Alexa’s voice and accent
In mid-2021, Amazon launched a new male voice for Alexa. The tone was launched with the name Ziggy. Like Wakeword, you can use your own voice to enable it, “Alexa, please change your voice.”
Alternatively, you can change the audio within the Alexa app. Please note that Amazon does not refer to voice options as male or female. Rather, one or two, this number also offers a variety of accents. Your echo speaker can speak with an Australian Twan, Canadian accent or Indian accent, with a British accent.

A bit Disney!
At Amazon’s 2021 launch event, Retail Giant revealed that he worked with Disney for “a whole new kind of voice assistant and Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Rooms working with Alexa at home.”
In 2025, Disney launched Hay Disney! Most echo family devices at the resort also allow customers to purchase in the US for use with home supported Echo devices for purchases in the US as their annual automatic renewal subscription at the Alexa Skills Store.
“Hey, Disney!” adds many beloved Disney characters to a particular echo smart speaker mix. It can also be used as part of your Amazon Kids+ subscription.
However, unlike the simple wake word changes described above, Hey Disney Experience is the first time that Alexa custom assistants will be available on Echo devices.
Alexa’s custom assistants are designed to live with Alexa rather than swapping native assistants, and have their own wake words, personality, voice and abilities.
For Disney’s efforts, there are over 1,000 “magic interactions” and new character, Disney’s magical companions.
