Resideo has officially announced the new First Alert Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide (CO) alarm that works within the Google Home app and is compatible with Nest Protect Devices.
And now that Google has made it out there that, if you’re keeping your nests safe and keeping an eye on your home, the good news is.
Google has posted a blog showing that it no longer manufactures the new Nest Protect Smoke & Co Alarms, but existing devices “continue to receive security updates and always continue to function even after expiration.”
For those already invested in Nest Protect, if you need to add or replace your device, the new First Alert Smart Smoke & CO alarm looks like a governor’s solution.
Two one alarm can be connected to the Nest Protect unit. This means that if one alarm goes off, all compatible alarms will sound. Perhaps they use Google’s Weave Tech. This is essentially a thread that has been rebaded essentially to connect to each other.
It also allows you to silence the alarm and get critical safety alerts in both the first alert app and the Google Home app, making home safety easier to manage from anywhere.
The new First Alt Alarm boasts the brand’s precision detection sensors, explaining the latest home designs where open spaces and synthetic materials can widen and burn fires faster.
Alarms also provide voice alerts, telling you where the problem is and where it is, notify you when your smartphone notifications leave, and even the first non-smart alert alarm can trigger an alert through the app.
The first alert Smart Smoke & CO alarm will be available in both battery and hardwired versions over the next few months, at $129.99, $20 less than the entire Nest Protect price.
Google has also announced that it hasn’t produced any more Nest X Yale Smart Locks, but it is guaranteed that “more useful home devices in the coming months” are still in the expected hardware games.
