Enjoy art with SwitchBot’s long-awaited AI art frame

SwitchBot officially announced the AI Art Frame following the IFA 2025 showcase, marking the launch of the world’s first AI-powered color E Ink art display.

Available in the UK from £149.99, this frame combines the creativity of generative AI with ultra-low power consumption, minimalist design and flexible sizing to bring digital artistry to the modern home.

Powered by Google’s NanoBanana AI engine, users can generate original artwork or remix existing images into oil painting, watercolor, or anime-like styles. A 30-day free trial offers up to 400 generations per month, with continued access priced at £3.20.

Available in three sizes (7.3 inches, 13.3 inches, and 31.5 inches), the frame can be mounted horizontally or vertically, making it versatile enough for a desk, bedroom, or gallery wall.

Equipped with E Ink Spectra 6 technology, the display mimics the layered texture of traditional paintings while remaining free of glare and backlighting. Spectra 6 delivers over 60,000 colors with enhanced saturation and contrast, ensuring crisp, print-like visuals even in bright light.

This makes this frame ideal for everyday art activities without the eye strain associated with traditional digital screens. Unlike standard digital photo frames, the SwitchBot AI Art Frame only draws power when changing content, and its 2000mAh battery lasts up to 2 years on a single charge.

The SwitchBot app allows users to upload and organize up to 10 photos locally and sync new artwork daily. AI Studio offers two creative modes: AI Art Prompt, which turns text and doodles into new artwork, and AI Art Remix, which turns photos into painterly or stylized works.

This dual functionality positions the frame as both a digital gallery and a creative tool, making it appealing to those seeking evolving art without constant manual updates.

Design-wise, the frame is made from premium aluminum alloy with an interchangeable bezel to match different interiors. Its wireless, cable-free aesthetic ensures it blends seamlessly into your home décor, whether displayed individually or as part of a curated wall gallery.

Competitors like LG’s Gallery TV and Fraimic’s Smart Canvas are also exploring AI-driven art displays, but SwitchBot’s focus on E Ink technology and long battery life makes it stand out in terms of practicality and energy efficiency.

For UK buyers, SwitchBot AI Art Frame prices start from £149.99, with bundle options available. Pre-orders are expected to ship by the end of February 2026.

Those interested in considering alternatives may also consider Samsung’s The Frame and LG’s Gallery TV, although these rely on traditional display panels rather than energy-efficient E Ink.
