OpenAI just released an update to its Codex desktop app this week, which includes a new feature on Mac called Appshots.

Appshots is now available on Codex for Mac, adding new ways to instantly provide context to your chats.
According to OpenAI, “Press Command-Command on your Mac to connect your app window to the Codex thread.” “Codex captures both screenshots and text from the window, including content other than what’s visible on the screen.”
Today’s update also includes an upgraded /goal command, which OpenAI describes here.

Use the Codex app, IDE extension, or CLI goal mode to give Codex specific milestones, and it will keep working until you reach your goal, even if it lasts for hours or days.

OpenAI says the in-app browser within Codex is now faster and more accurate with advanced annotation modes and support for batch comments.
Business users can now share custom plugins between teams. Enterprise users can contact OpenAI to request early access to shared plugin support.
OpenAI also said that Codex’s Analytics for business and enterprise users now includes details about active users, credits, tokens, executions, user leaderboards, lines of code generated, and plugin usage.
The latest version of Codex for Mac is now available. Last week, OpenAI began previewing Codex iOS access through the ChatGPT app, and this week that too has been improved with new features.
