Blink Subscription Plan: How much do I need, how much do I spend, what do I get?

Everything you need to know about Blink’s Basic and Plus subscription plans

Blink has a substantial offer when it comes to smart security. The Amazon-owned company does everything from small, compact Blink mini cameras to video doorbells and floodlight cameras. Pans and tilt cameras were also provided in front of the ring.

If you are considering getting a Blink Security Camera or Doorbell, understanding your Blink subscription plan can help you get better features.

Like Philips Hue, Nest, Arlo and Ring, Blink also offers subscription plans that are not needed for key features on your device, but you can access more features. This is everything you need to know.

Blink offers a subscription plan that unlocks additional features on Blink cameras and doorbells. These plans offer many features that allow you to view past events and access clips remotely from cloud storage for video recording.

Blink’s subscription plans aren’t very similar to Philips Hue Secure, Ring Home, Nest Aware, and Arlo Secure, but if you want to understand the difference in the price of different smart home security options and monthly costs, there are all the features.

Specifically, as we’re talking about it here, of course, there are two subscription options: Basic and Plus.

No, like Philips Hue, Arlo, Nest, and Ring don’t need a subscription to work.

Without a Blink subscription plan, you can stream live views of your device (up to 5 minutes) and receive basic motion alerts without subscription and use the two-way audio feature. You can also use Alexa without a subscription.

However, you cannot save or view recorded clips. Also, if your subscription is not in place, it has features such as video sharing and motion detection video recording, as well as human detection (compatible devices).

It depends on the blink subscription you sign up for what you get. As mentioned above, two Blink subscription plans are available: the Blink Basic Plan and the Blink Plus Plan. As you can imagine, all the features you get with the Blink Basic Plan also gain some extra features on the Blink Plus plan.

The Blink Basic plan covers one device, so if you have multiple Blink cameras and you want all the extra features offered by all the devices, you will need to choose the Blink Plus plan. However, if you only have one Blink device, here are what you’ll get with your subscription:

  • Live view streaming (90 minutes in a row)
  • Motion detection video recording
  • Live view recording
  • Unlimited 60-day video history
  • Automatic local storage backup
  • Quick video access
  • Video sharing
  • Photo capture
  • People detection

Note that for some of these features you will need a compatible Blink device. For example, the photo capture feature, which regularly captures images for more coverage, is only available on Blink Outdoor 4, Wired Floodlight, Indoor and Outdoor (3rd Gen) cameras, video doorbells, and Blink Mini 2.

The Blink Plus Plan covers unlimited Blink devices, so if you have multiple Blink devices in your home and want additional features, this is the plan you want to choose. On top of the Blink Basic Plan feature above, you also get:

  • Custom Notification Snooze
  • 10% off Blink devices
  • Extended warranty coverage

The extended warranty coverage is the biggest advantage of the Blink Plus plan, except that it probably gains additional functionality from the master plan of all Blink devices. Custom notifications are also useful, especially if you’re at home and want to turn on your blinking camera but don’t want to be notified whenever your dog moves.

Blink offers two-tier subscription plans, basic and plus. Both tiers come with monthly and annual billing options. The Basic Plan is designed for a single camera, while the Plus Plan covers all eligible devices in your Blink account.

Basic Plan: This plan allows for cloud storage and video history for one camera. The master plan price is $3/£2.50 per month or $30/£24 per year.

Other plans: This plan covers all Blink devices with a single account, offering enhancements such as the ability to temporarily suspend motion active alerts for up to 24 hours and an extended warranty. The Blink Plus plan costs $10/£8 per month or $100/£80 per year.

What is the storage limit for a Blink subscription plan?

There are no storage limits on Blink subscription plans. Store unlimited number of events for up to 60 days on a Blink camera covered with a Blink subscription.

What are the terms of the extended warranty?

The Blink Plus plan has the advantage of an extended warranty. If you subscribe to a Blink Plus plan, your Blink device must be within the original warranty period and will be covered until you discontinue your Blink Plus plan.

How do I sign up for a Blink subscription plan?

To sign up for a Blink subscription plan, download and sign in to the Blink Hone Monitor app. After that you need to go Account and Privacy Settings Tap “Link to your Amazon account.” From here, select the device or account for which you want to attach your Blink subscription plan to. that’s it.
