Apple’s next Home Hub could be $350 off

Apple’s widely rumored 7-inch Home Hub is expected to be released in spring 2026, with a price target of around $350.

That’s according to Bloomberg’s Mark Garman, a well-respected insider who reports that smart displays are being touted as central controllers for lights, locks, cameras, and more.

Two versions are reportedly being tested, including a wall-mounted panel and a tabletop model resembling a HomePod mini with a screen. However, it is unclear at this time which model will be priced at $350.

The device is also said to have a built-in FaceTime camera and a sensor that adjusts the interface to the person standing in front of it.

It’s an interesting prospect, but the hub’s retail price of $350 puts it well above mainstream rivals like the Amazon Echo Show 11. In other words, it would match the launch price of Apple’s HomePod, but would need to do more to justify its cost.

Manufacturing will take place in Vietnam, with Chinese manufacturer BYD handling assembly, part of a broader shift to diversify production outside China.

And while the product was previously scheduled to be released in March 2025, delays in the Siri overhaul mean the Home Hub likely won’t arrive until spring 2026. Garman reports that a companion indoor security camera and a tabletop robot that essentially adds a motorized arm to a 9-inch screen will follow.
