Apple TV’s new movie is a hit, just the start of a big year ahead

Apple TV’s latest movie, Eternity, has been an early hit in its first week of release, and with a strong lineup of movies released throughout the year, Apple’s movie success should continue.

Eternity beats F1: The Movie on Apple TV’s top charts for a week

The latest Apple TV movie, Eternity, arrived just in time for Valentine’s Day last week. And it has gotten a lot of views so far.

Eternity quickly replaced F1: The Movie at the top of Apple TV’s movie charts.

I wasn’t surprised when this first happened. A24 romantic comedy starring Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller and Callum Turner to be released over Valentine’s weekend? Hitting number one seemed inevitable.

But what surprised me is how sustained that success has been.

I expected that after a successful weekend, Eternity would fall behind F1, Apple’s biggest movie in history, on the top charts. However, even now, a full week after its release, it remains at number one in the United States.

In other words, this is another hit for Apple, the latest in a string of successful movie releases.

And the lineup of movies released during 2026 looks set to continue that trend.

New Apple TV movies coming in 2026

Earlier this month, Apple held a star-studded media event to announce some of the biggest TV shows and movies coming to Apple TV throughout 2026.

The presentation featured five upcoming films, all of which have the potential to do well.

dark comedy result is the first. The film has a release date of April 10th, stars Keanu Reeves, Cameron Diaz, and Jonah Hill, and features a unique plot.

Pickleball comedy this summer The Dink It will be released on July 24th as a hilarious underdog story starring Jake Johnson, Mary Steenburgen and Ed Harris.

And for this fall, Apple has highlighted three big premieres.

There may be additional films in the pipeline that have not yet been released. The five listed above were simply shown off early because they are high-profile cast members.

But based on the titles announced alone, it seems like Apple intends to build on the movie momentum it started last year.
