Colin Farrell plays private investigator John Sugar. I loved the first season, but this is unlike any other series Apple offers. And I’m intrigued to see how the sci-fi twist will be incorporated into season two.

“Sugar” is a modern and unique take on one of the most popular and important genres in the history of literature, film and television: the private detective story. Season 2 sees the return of iconic Los Angeles private investigator and film enthusiast John Sugar. Emmy nominee Colin Farrell returns to the new case as he tracks down the troubled brother of an up-and-coming local boxer as the search for his beloved missing sister continues. As the investigation expands into a city-wide conspiracy with sinister intentions, Sugar must confront herself and answer the question: How far will she go to do the right thing?

Women in Blue (“Las Azules”) Season 2
Women in Blue (‘Las Azules’) is part of Apple’s ever-growing library of foreign language series.
The show is a Spanish-language crime drama inspired by real events. The film centers on four women who join Mexico’s first female police force, but it turns out to be a publicity stunt to distract from a serial killer on the run.
Women in Blue season 2 premiere Wednesday, August 12th There will be one episode and then released weekly until September 30th.
Here’s a plot preview for the first season:
Set in 1971 and inspired by true events, Women in Blue tells the stories of four women who rebel against the ultra-conservative norms of the time and join Mexico’s first female police force. However, it turns out that their unit is a publicity stunt to distract the media from a brutal serial killer. As the body count mounts, their determination to catch the killer becomes an obsession. Maria (Mori), Gabina (Amorita Lasgado), whose father is a famous police officer, Ángeles (Ximena Sariñana), a talented fingerprint analyst, and Valentina (Natalia Telles), a young rebel, begin an undercover investigation to accomplish what the male police could not and bring the serial killer to justice.
The first season of the series received rave reviews from critics, earning a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with 16 reviews. Starring Barbara Mori, it was created by award-winning showrunners and directors Fernando Lofzal (Monarca) and Pablo Alamendi (Tijuana).
Women in Blue Season 1 is available on Apple TV.
