Apple and Major League Baseball have announced the Friday Night Baseball schedule for August, with Apple TV set to stream another month of weekly doubleheaders featuring the Yankees, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Mariners, Cubs, Cardinals, and more. Here are the details:
“Friday Night Baseball” August schedule revealed
Today, Apple and MLB announced the August schedule for Friday Night Baseball, available to Apple TV subscribers in 60 countries and territories every Friday throughout the month.
As Apple noted, the schedule will be “highlighted by several high-profile games, including the latest chapter in two of baseball’s most iconic rivalries.” Here is this month’s complete schedule:
August 7th
- Baltimore Orioles vs. Texas Rangers, 8pm ET
- Tampa Bay Rays vs. Seattle Mariners, 9:30 p.m. ET
August 14th
- St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs, 2:00 p.m. ET
- New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays, 7:00 p.m. ET
August 21st
- Tampa Bay Rays vs. Baltimore Orioles, 7:00 p.m. ET
- Los Angeles Angels vs. Texas Rangers, 8pm ET
August 28th
- Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees, 7:00 p.m. ET
- Seattle Mariners vs. Toronto Blue Jays, 7:00 p.m. ET
Here’s what Apple has to say about what baseball fans can expect from next month’s broadcast:
For the fifth consecutive season, Friday Night Baseball games will be covered by the broadcast team of Wayne Randazzo (play-by-play), Dontrell Willis (analyst) and Heidi Watney (sideline reporter). Alex Faust (play-by-play), Ryan Spielvos (analyst), Tricia Whittaker (sideline reporter) and Rich Walz will join the broadcast team to call select games during the season. Announcer assignments for each game will be revealed weekly. The Friday Night Baseball pregame show will be hosted by Lauren Gardner, former MLB All-Star Eric Hosmer and insider Russell Dorsey.
Apple also said fans in the U.S. and Canada will be able to listen to local home and away radio broadcasts during Friday Night Baseball games, subject to availability. In Canada, that option is limited to Toronto Blue Jays home games.
