Apple is projecting a Christmas tree designed using an iPad onto Battersea Power Station

Last month, Apple announced a Christmas tree drawing contest for iPad users in the UK, with winning designs set to be displayed “alongside trees drawn by well-known artists and celebrities.” Selected trees will now illuminate the wash tower at Battersea Power Station until 24 December.

According to Apple, the winners include 7-year-old Miah DB, whose design is shown below. Their designs will join 23 other winning entries and will be exhibited alongside trees painted by “famous artists and celebrities including Kylie Minogue, Sir Stephen Fry, Maro Itoje, Oliver Jeffers, David Shrigley, OBE and Chawawa”.

This contest is based on Apple’s 2023 bigger christmas tree The installation at Battersea Power Station features designs created by artist David Hockney and Aardman animations from last year shot on an iPhone 16 Pro Max.

In a press release announcing the winners, Apple reinforced its extensive presence across the UK.

“Apple supports over 550,000 jobs in the UK and opened its UK headquarters at London’s Battersea Power Station in 2023. The 500,000 sq ft, six-storey building is powered by 100 per cent renewable energy and designed around collaboration, inclusivity, health and sustainability.
