While I’m excited about Wi-Fi 7 becoming the standard, I have to admit that the technology is expensive at the moment – unless you buy the Amazon eero 7, of course.
As evidence of how expensive cutting-edge networking equipment can be, Amazon’s own brand Eero isn’t the most expensive option available, but even that system costs a pretty penny. For example, a 2-pack of Amazon eero 7 dual-band mesh Wi-Fi 7 routers typically costs $279.99.
Right now, Amazon has reduced the price of the eero 7 to just $229.99, saving you a whopping $50 on the full price.

Network equipment tends to have a long lifespan, but the Amazon eero 7 is worth buying now given its next-generation Wi-Fi 7 performance. If you have an internet plan that supports speeds up to 2.5 Gbps, this is the router for you.
If you haven’t yet upgraded to a Wi-Fi 7 compatible internet plan, don’t worry. Amazon eero 7 works fine with your existing internet connection. You can’t bring out the best in yourself until you take the leap.
However, with Wi-Fi 7, you should start to notice some significant differences between devices. 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz are two bands that are known to suffer from network congestion, and this new technology aims to alleviate that problem.
In his review of the Amazon eero 7, Home Technology Editor David Ludlow said: “The price is attractive, and the Eero 7 is fast when there’s no interference, but not so fast when there’s a lot of interference. If you live in a rural area with few wireless networks around, this is an inexpensive and reliable mesh system.”
As a mesh system, the eero 7 has some intelligence built into it, allowing connected devices to seamlessly hop between different routers as they move around your home, ensuring a stable connection at all times and effectively reducing dead zones.
You can also expect a very quick and easy setup to get you up and running from scratch. Once deployed, you can use Eero’s easy-to-use app to manage your network, see which devices are connected, and modify certain parental controls on the fly.
Not only is the Amazon eero 7 more affordable than competing Wi-Fi 7 systems on the market today, but at this price it’s a great choice for anyone looking for a future-proof home network.

A much cheaper Wi-Fi 7 mesh system than before, Eero 7 lowers the price by eliminating the 6GHz network band. How much of a difference it makes depends on where you live. If there are a lot of other Wi-Fi networks around, this system won’t be very fast. If you live in a non-congested area (or you can extend your Eero system by placing satellites in your area), this system will be very fast with Wi-Fi 7 clients. Overall, this is a solid system, but don’t let the 7 in the name sway your decisions.
