Apple TV announces streaming date for epic Neuromancer animated adaptation, new Dark Matter and Matchbox trailers

Apple TV has prepared a number of announcements for its appearance on Hall H, the main stage of San Diego Comic-Con this weekend. Leading the way, new sci-fi epic Neuromancer (based on William Gibson’s genre-defining novel) has finally set a release date. The series will premiere on January 22nd.

The streamer also released new trailers for Dark Matter season 2 and the upcoming movie Matchbox. Check it out after the break…

The gritty, cyberpunk Neuromancer series stars Callum Turner as Case, a hacker who teams up with an assassin called Molly against a corporate dynasty.

The first teaser for the series can be seen right now, but fans of the series still have a bit of a wait. Neuromancer will premiere on January 22, 2027. The season consists of 10 episodes.

Also today, the official trailer for Season 2 of “Dark Matter”, which will be released at the end of August, was released.

Dark Matter Season 1 was released in 2024 and adapted the story from the novel of the same name by author Blake Crouch. Season 2 will go beyond the story in the book, but all scripts will still be written by Crouch. It looks like the world isn’t rid of many Jason clones after all.

And finally, Apple released a trailer for the upcoming movie Matchbox starring John Cena.

Loosely based on the toy car brand, Matchbox seems to follow the classic CIA agent and conspiracy plot. Vehicle chases, helicopters, and the usual action-comedy formula seem to be on display here. You can stream Matchbox in October.

Apple’s Comic Con presence also included in-person panels at Widows Bay, Silo, and more. This is the company’s largest exhibition at the prestigious annual event, and for the first time ever, a two-hour slot will be held in Hall H.
