Apple celebrates MLS return with new Apple Maps guide, Apple Music playlists, and more

As the 2026 World Cup draws to a close, Major League Soccer returns to Apple TV tomorrow, along with several related features including Apple Maps, Apple Sports, and Apple Fitness+. Here are the details:

MLS is back on Apple TV

Apple today highlighted the return of Apple League Soccer, with six games scheduled over the next few days.

Thursday, July 16th:

  • CF Montreal vs. Toronto FC (7:30 p.m. ET)
  • Chicago Fire vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC (8:30 p.m. ET)
  • St. Louis City SC vs. Sporting Kansas City (8:30 p.m. ET)
  • Seattle Sounders vs. Portland Timbers (10:30 p.m. ET)

Friday, July 17th:

  • Nashville SC vs. Atlanta United FC (8:10 p.m. ET)
  • LA Galaxy vs. Los Angeles Football Club (10:15 p.m. ET)

To help fans prepare for the return of the regular season, Apple announced several MLS-themed features coming to many of its platforms, including a new Time to Walk audio experience for Apple Fitness+ subscribers.

In the new episode, German soccer legend Thomas Müller “reflects on the hard work it took to get his career off the ground and explains why he welcomes the challenge of making a big change in his life.”

Apple Music also gets multiple exclusive playlists created by stars like Real Salt Lake’s Diego Luna and FC Cincinnati’s Evander da Silva Ferreira, as well as a slew of team-themed playlists from the Eastern and Western Conferences, including the New York Red Bulls, New York City FC, and Orlando City SC.

On Apple Maps, the company is releasing “exclusive matchday guides created by MLS clubs and city guides created by players to find local restaurant recommendations to watch the game, explore your favorite spots in town, get detailed information about stadiums, and more.”

Users with the Apple Sports app can stay up to date on the league by tracking live scores, standings, play-by-play updates, lineup formations, team stats, and more.

Finally, Apple says:

To commemorate the return of Major League Soccer, adidas will host a two-day celebration on July 16th and 17th at the adidas Home of Soccer in Brooklyn, New York, featuring a viewing party, MLS player appearances, an MLS jersey showcase and additional fan experiences.

MLS games are available to Apple TV subscribers in more than 100 countries and territories at no additional charge, and Apple also offers access to exclusive content and tournament and playoff games throughout the season.
