Ring has announced a major expansion to its smart home lineup, introducing its first battery-powered doorbell with 4K video, as well as new wired models, multiple 2K devices, and an updated Spotlight camera that improves overall home security coverage.
4K video now available on battery-powered models
An additional headline is the Battery Video Doorbell Pro (2nd generation) priced at £219.99. It offers what Ring calls Retinal 4K video and up to 10x enhanced zoom, allowing users to capture more details like faces, luggage, and activity around the front door.
Compared to the previous model, which already offered powerful high-resolution video and advanced motion detection, this new version further improves detail with full 4K capture and significantly enhanced zoom.
Ring says this new battery-powered model features a redesigned internal architecture with faster charging, helps support high-definition video, and is suitable for a wider range of homes, while maintaining flexible installation without the need for existing wiring or complex setup.
In addition to this, Ring is introducing a wired 4K option in the form of the Video Doorbell Elite, priced at £449.99. It includes similar visual upgrades and Power over Ethernet support for more stable connections and continuous power.
The wide range also includes three new 2K models at different price points, with the Battery Video Doorbell Plus (2nd Generation) priced at £129.99, the Battery Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) priced at £79.99 and the Wired Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) priced at £59.99, each offering a different installation type and feature set across the product range.
New solar accessories for flexible installation
Ring is also introducing a dedicated solar accessory designed to support the latest battery-powered doorbells, allowing for more flexible deployment without the need for frequent charging.
The Ring Solar Charger is directly integrated into the mounting design, allowing the doorbell to be mounted on top of the charger itself, streamlining setup, maintaining a cleaner installation, and providing a more stable power supply over time.
Ring also continues its commitment to AI-powered capabilities through the Ring AI Pro subscription. This introduces tools such as video descriptions, keyword-based search, extended video history for up to 180 days, and extended live view access for improved monitoring.
New devices including the Spotlight Cam Pro, priced at £219.99, are now available for pre-order, as Ring continues to expand its portfolio of high-resolution cameras, offering a wide range of options to suit different budgets and installation needs.
