IKEA’s Dirigera home hub is now even smarter thanks to an upgrade that makes it compatible with Matter 1.3 compatible products.
Dirigera firmware update 2.866.3 allows you to connect the hub to various other brands of water leak sensors and energy measuring bulbs. This means that Matter-enabled devices such as the Tapo Mini Smart WiFi Plug can work with the hub relatively easily.
The hub is set to update automatically for all users who own it. However, you can also trigger updates through the app.
This is the first update the smart hub has received since July when it introduced Sonos authentication support, and it looks like IKEA has no plans to slow down anytime soon.
According to NotebookCheck, Dirigeara Hub is Matter 1.4 certified, according to the new filing. This could result in support for devices such as water heaters and improved thermostats.
However, given that 1.3 was just supported, it may be a while before this is released.
