Xiaomi’s high-end air purifier arrives in Europe – and the price is surprisingly good

Xiaomi’s latest flagship purifier, Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6, has officially landed in Europe. This looks like one of the most powerful smart homes from the brand launched in the last few years.

After quietly appearing on Xiaomi’s global site in August, many expected it to remain a China-only release, but the company has now confirmed that it is now available in some European markets.

This purifier has a clean, minimalist design and a feature list that easily puts it in “premium” territory. Xiaomi says it uses a five-stage filtration system that targets everything from common allergens to residual household odors, and thanks to a CADR of 443 cubic meters per hour for particles, it can reportedly clean an entire room in just 3.5 minutes. On paper, this is on the same level as more expensive models from established Aircare brands.

Competitive pricing

Pricing in Europe is also quite aggressive, at €189.99 in Spain and €199.99 in Germany, but Xiaomi has yet to confirm a UK release date.

One of this purifier’s standout tricks, and perhaps the feature that sets it apart in this price range, is its ability to filter formaldehyde, a VOC emitted by furniture, carpets, some paints, and even fireplaces. Most mainstream water purifiers don’t address this issue, so Xiaomi’s decision to include formaldehyde filtration could make it an attractive option for people sensitive to chemical pollutants or those dealing with emissions from new homes.

With winter approaching and demand for both purifiers and dehumidifiers peaking, the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 feels like it arrived at the perfect time. And given Xiaomi’s habit of selling out Europe’s most popular smart home devices, the combination of power, design, and sub-200 euro price tag might make this product disappear quickly.
