This is Apple’s unreleased 10th anniversary Apple Watch Band (Gallery)

Over the years, I’ve seen unreleased Apple Watch bands appear outside of Apple, and this may be my favorite. The Apple Watch celebrated its 10th anniversary later this month, and it turns out that Apple created it to celebrate the special edition of the Apple Watch Sport Band.

Here are many images showing it…but you probably won’t be able to buy it.

Mike, a 9to5Mac reader, also running a Discord Server dedicated to Apple Watch Band Collecting, shared a gallery of images showing off the unreleased anniversary band.

The Anniversary Apple Watch Sport Band features a spotted design similar to the 2023 Pride Edition Sport Band and the recent Nike Bands. However, the speckle for this is intended to represent the seasonal colours of Apple Watch bands released by Apple over the years. The band has a special message engraved on the back: “2014-2024: 10 Apple Watch.” “10” is surrounded by the center. It has a jet black pin.

It is unknown how many of these Apple Watch bands were manufactured. So far, only four of them have come to fruition in the real world. Two of them were sold on eBay last October and were still on sale in a special package that Apple uses to send accessory samples to the Cupertino color evaluation team.

Apple may have run small production tests, but ultimately decided not to proceed with mass production and release to the public. Apple has previously presented employees with limited edition Apple Watch bands, but it appears that anniversary bands have never come out of the evaluation stage.

This Apple Watch band is rarely revealed. The Apple Watch will celebrate its 10th anniversary later this month, originally released on April 24, 2015. The band’s “2014-2024” lettering was announced as it was announced at an Apple special event on September 9th, 2014. There was also evidence that Apple was planning a special activity challenge to celebrate the Apple Watch anniversary.

Check out more photos below. What do you think about the design? Should Apple bring this band to the public?
