In the era of Apple Silicon, MacBooks are now more affordable than ever. With tariffs looming in China, these face value could soon be over. So, if you’re in the market for a new MacBook for any reason, now it may be one of the best times to buy.
Apple’s upcoming MacOS 26 update is rumored to drop support for some additional Intel Macs, so if you want to stay with the latest and greatest Apple software, it’s a good time to upgrade.
M1 MacBook Air
Apple has launched four MacBook Airs since entering the Apple Silicon era with M1, M2, M3 and M4 chips. The M1 MacBook Air still uses the more familiar wedge design of the Intel era, but many users may prefer it.
The M1 MacBook Air remains an excellent laptop for its price, despite being four years old. It boasts fiery fast performance thanks to its M1 chip, a stunning Retina display (using a thicker bezel compared to the new MacBook Airs), a fantastic keyboard and a battery life of up to 18 hours.
The M1 MacBook Air is the oldest on this list and is the cheapest. One thing to note about the M1 MacBook Air is that it’s difficult to find a new one with 256GB or more storage. So, if you need a lot of storage, you need to buy new air. On the bright side, it remains to be the only Apple Silicon MacBook in the right gold color.
At Walmart, you can purchase the M1 MacBook Air in all three colors, in silver, space grey and gold, for $649 at Walmart.

M3 MacBook Air
In 2022, Apple introduced a redesigned MacBook Air with a thinner design, a larger display with a slimmer bezel, and a redesigned MacBook Air with a reintroducing Magsafe. In addition to silver and space grey, there were also new Starlight and midnight colors, but there was no more gold. This fresh new design was introduced with the M2 chip and has been alive ever since.
Unfortunately, the M2 chip model is effectively cleared across all major retailers, so the transaction starts with the M3 chip model. Apple introduced the M4 chip model earlier this year, but unless cutting edge performance is a priority, this model is perfectly suited for you.
Currently, you can secure up to $300 and have a configuration available with 512GB of storage. It is also available in the 15-inch version of the M3 MacBook Air.

M4 MacBook Air
In March, Apple unveiled its MacBook Air, which was refreshed with the M4 chip. The computer is pretty much similar to the previous model, but features a new center stage webcam and a new Sky Blue colour that replaces the Space Grey.

15-inch model with M4 chip:
Despite being the latest and best, the M4 MacBook Air already has some incredible deals, mainly thanks to the already low starting price. Furthermore, because these models are manufactured in Vietnam, increasing customs prices would not be a concern here.
M4 MacBook Pro
Apple redesigned its MacBook Pro in 2021, featuring a new minil display with promotions, more ports (particularly HDMI ports and SD card readers), and a larger battery and better thermal. It also won a 1080p webcam for the first time.
The MacBook Pro is not as affordable as MacBook Airs lists, but if you want its amazing display and additional ports, you still need to find it. All models listed below are M4 and M4 Pro chip models, providing the latest and best performance and features.
