Ring is going all in on the festive spirit this year with a campaign that marries smart home technology with old Christmas traditions.
People in the UK and Ireland can win a free Ring Video Doorbell and a £1,000 Amazon gift voucher just by singing Christmas carols all week.
This idea came off the back of a viral clip you may have already seen. A group of boys in Denny, Scotland, went door to door singing carols, filmed on Ring’s camera. The video has racked up nearly 2 million views and inspired Ring’s new #RingAndSing campaign. The campaign aims to revive caroling after a survey by the company found that 96% of Brits feel the tradition of caroling is fading in their area.
It’s easy to participate. Play Christmas carols with your Ring video doorbell and share the video on the Ring app or on social media using the #RingAndSing hashtag. Denny youth will then choose their five favorite performances and the winners will receive merchandise.
The ring also has a charitable aspect. The company will donate £10 to Strathcarron Hospice for every video shared. Strathcarron Hospice is an organization that Denny Caroler has supported through his own fundraising efforts.
If you want to participate, you have until December 15th. Whether you want to score a new doorbell or simply want to keep a Christmas tradition alive, this might be the season’s most festive smart home gift.
