Ring Intercom Video launches in the UK, making apartment living a smarter upgrade

Ring is bringing the latest smart home innovation to UK apartments with the launch of Ring Intercom Video, a new connected device that allows residents to see, talk to and grant access to visitors from their mobile phone.

Building on the success of Ring Intercom in 2022, which allowed users to remotely control building entrances, this new version adds cameras and live streaming capabilities. So whether you’re curled up on the couch or halfway around the world, you can now visually see who’s making noise before you unlock the door.

Through the Ring app, users can view a live feed of their front door, chat with guests with two-way talk, and remotely unlock their door. If you have an Echo Show, you can let attendees in with just a glance at the display and a tap or voice command, making the entire experience hands-free.

Installation is also surprisingly easy. Ring says it’s designed for do-it-yourself setups, allowing most users to have the system up and running within an hour without making any structural changes, which is a huge benefit for renters. The new intercom also integrates with Auto-Verified Deliveries, Amazon’s free service that allows drivers to safely drop off packages for a limited time, meaning no more missed deliveries or wet packages.

For those who travel frequently or live in an apartment complex, Ring Intercom Video truly feels like a quality of life upgrade. It combines the peace of mind of video authentication with the convenience of remote access, a balance that is becoming increasingly essential in modern urban homes.

Ring Intercom Video is currently available at an introductory price of £69.99, but will increase to £99.99 on December 2nd. Customers who own the audio-only version can exchange it for a newer model through Ring’s upgrade program.
