I'm an audiophile. I have a decent setup in my barn, a big system in my vehicle, and pairs of studio headphones and monitor earbuds. I love music and the equipment that can reproduce it. Besides the main things you think of, like amplifiers, speakers, subwoofers, etc., there's a lot of extra gear you need, like wire, connectors, and fuses. I'm VERY big on protecting my equipment, so I fuse everything. Everything. Even stuff that normally isn't fused I'll sometimes add a fuse holder, just to be sure. I'm always looking for new ones for projects or upgrades for my existing stuff, so when I saw this holder I had to try it.
It arrived wrapped in plastic and includes the holder and a fuse.
This is a really neat holder! My biggest annoyance with most fuse holders is the lid. Normally these lids either pop off under a mild breeze or you need a pair of pliers to remove. This one is different, the lid actually slides into place. It's very different, but seems like it's going to be much easier to keep this lid on. With this design, even with the lid off, there's far less exposed metal, so less possibility of a short. Removing the fuse is pretty easy, there's just a screw on each side.
Overall I'm very happy with this fuse holder. It looks like it'll be safer than most designs, and uses mini-ANL fuses, which is great because I have a bunch of expensive ones. I like this design so much that I may end up replacing most of my other fuse holders with one of these.
