
LG teased its new UltraFine 6K display with Thunderbolt 5 at CES in January, which caught the attention of Mac users. However, the company was very tight-lipped about the details of the display, including price and availability.
But now, the LG UltraFine 6K is available for purchase from LG’s website for $1,999.99, with first orders shipping on October 20th. Here’s everything you need to know…

This resolution is slightly higher than Apple’s Pro Display XDR (6016 x 3384 pixels), giving it 224 pixels per inch (versus 218PPI for Pro Display XDR). Apple released the Pro Display XDR in 2019 and continues to sell it for $4,999 ($5,999 if you need a stand). Like the Pro Display XDR, the LG UltraFine 32U990A doesn’t have built-in speakers or a webcam.
However, Pro Display XDR has higher brightness both in normal use (1,000 nits) and in HDR mode (1,600 nits).
Design-wise, the LG UltraFine 32U990A looks a lot like Apple’s Pro Display XDR, at least in terms of how it looks in photos. The jury is still out on the overall build quality, which was a big issue with the LG UltraFine 5K. However, according to the images, it has a stand that is fully adjustable for height, tilt, and rotation.
