LG has removed the cover from the latest member of the ArtCool Aircon Range. As expected from the 2025 high-tech launch, there are a lot of AI Smarts.
The new ArtCool AI Ai Ai Ai from the Korean company wants to take smart cooling to the next level with AI-powered climate optimization and increased energy efficiency.
What that means is that in non-press release fluff language, the strength and orientation of the airflow can be automatically adjusted based on the layout of the room and where people are located.
LG doesn’t go into detail exactly what technology they use, but if they rely on MMWave radar sensing, like the surrounding sensing of Samsung’s Smartthings, it’s accurate enough to distinguish between real people and plants swaying in airflow.
Things like Meross and Aqara have already put MMWave sensors on the market. This boasts accurate presence detection that allows you to feel where they are in the room and what they are doing, not just when someone is in the room.
ArtCool AI Air also features a window open detection mode that is detected when the window remains open and automatically switches to energy-saving mode to prevent unnecessary cooling.
There is also an AI KW manager that can be accessed through the LG ThinQ app. This allows users to monitor real-time power consumption and limits to balance comfort and electrical costs.
Unlike previous ArtCool models, which focused on blending into the home decor, the digital artwork display features a 27-inch display and the new arrival prioritizes intelligence over aesthetics, featuring a refined black mirror finish and a multi-line grille construction that distributes airflow more evenly in a softer, more comfortable breeze.
While LG has not yet announced pricing or availability, the ArtCool AI Air is part of the wider smart home push from the brand.
Over the past 12 months, we’ve seen LG acquire the brain behind a good, homely smart home system. And with the launch of the ThinQ API, the Korean giant has opened the door to the smart home platform.
