Just buy a new iPhone? Here are my favorite MagSafe accessories

Apple announced the iPhone 17e this week, and it fixed one of the previous model’s biggest problems by adding support for MagSafe.

There’s a robust ecosystem of MagSafe accessories for the iPhone on the market, and these are some of my favorites.

MagSafe Charger

I’m a big fan of Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe. I think this is the best multi-device charger on the market. You’ll be able to charge your iPhone alongside your Apple Watch and AirPods using MagSafe. The compact design allows you to hold your iPhone upright so you can use it in standby mode.

Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe can be ordered from Amazon.

If you’re looking for something a little more basic, Apple’s own MagSafe charging pack is a great option. Provides fast wireless charging up to 25W.

MagSafe Wallet

Apple’s first MagSafe-enabled iPhone was the iPhone 12 in 2020. When I got my iPhone 12 Pro, I immediately switched to a MagSafe-enabled wallet. Since then, I haven’t looked back. I don’t carry around a “real” wallet anymore.

There are various MagSafe wallets available on the market. Apple’s first-party FineWoven Wallet with MagSafe is a great, albeit very basic, option.

Moft also makes a very clever MagSafe wallet that doubles as a kickstand for your iPhone.

MagSafe car mount

Gone are the days of car mounts with unwieldy clips to hold your iPhone in place. MagSafe now allows accessory manufacturers to create a sleek, discreet in-car holder for your iPhone.

Belkin’s MagSafe Vent Mount Pro is a great choice if you’re shopping on a budget. The only downside here is that Belkin’s accessory won’t charge your iPhone, so you’ll have to connect it manually. iOttie’s Velox Qi2 Mini is recommended for those who want a MagSafe vent mount that also charges their iPhone.

If you drive a car without traditional vents, such as a Tesla, Belkin also makes a Qi2 MagSafe phone mount that attaches to the back of your car’s infotainment screen. I personally use a Jowua phone mount in my Ford Mustang Mach-E, but I cannot guarantee that it is the latest generation model.

MagSafe battery

MagSafe has also enabled an innovative category of MagSafe battery packs. Attaches magnetically to the back of your iPhone so you can charge it on the go.

Since I use an iPhone Air, I chose Apple’s official MagSafe battery, but it only works with the iPhone Air. Does not work with other iPhone models.

Before purchasing the iPhone Air, I was using an Anker Nano Power Bank. My friend Stephen Robles is obsessed with MagSafe battery packs and has a great video testing tons of different options on the market. His favorite is the Baseus Picogo Qi2.2 25W. Watch his full video below to find out why.

MagSafe Pop Socket

PopSocket has been around for years, but I had never tried it until MagSafe came along. I didn’t care about the adhesive design or the need to use a case specifically designed for use with the PopSocket.

I don’t use PopSocket on my iPhone Air, but I had it handy when I was using my iPhone 16 Pro. MagSafe gives you a choice when using PopSocket, so you don’t have to keep it permanently connected to your iPhone.

Other great MagSafe products

These are some of the most common MagSafe categories, but Apple’s technology has enabled many other clever products.

For example, there are MagSafe mounts that are specifically designed to hold your phone in the shower. There is a magnetic suction cup grip for iPhone. There are also MagSafe chargers that are shaped like a globe. There’s a MagSafe grip designed to make it easier to hold your iPhone while taking photos. There’s a MagSafe ring light to improve your selfie game, and a MagSafe mount to use your iPhone as a webcam for your Mac.
