The most likely iPhone 17 event date is the rumored iPhone 17 event date. There’s no surprise. But when should we expect Apple to actually see the date of its next big product release, and what should we make of that event to invite to social media?
iPhone 17 events are on schedule
With a few exceptions, Apple usually announces new flagship iPhone models each year in the second week of September. This year, it appears to be following the pattern at the event rumored on Tuesday, September 9th. If the normal pattern sticks, you should expect to see the first hardware that will be released on Friday, September 12th, contacting customers a week later on Friday, September 19th.
So far, there are no rumors that certain iPhone 17 models are behind, but the precedents for some models shipping the previous year are certainly precedents. For example, the iPhone X actually shipped in November 2017 following the launch of the iPhone 8 in September of that year. In other years, Apple released a new variation in October. It depends on the production timeline.
For now, four new iPhones are expected to be announced in September: the latest styles for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Air.
When will Apple become official?
Apple is hoping to actually announce the new iPhone lineup next month, but we can predict an announcement about the event itself later this month. Below are the dates and events announcement dates for recent iPhone events to provide context.
| Model | Event Announcements | Event date | delta |
| iPhone 16 | Monday, August 26th | Monday, September 9th | 14th |
| iPhone 15 | Tuesday, August 29th | Tuesday, September 12th | 14th |
| iPhone 14 | Wednesday, August 24th | Wednesday, September 7th | 14th |
| iPhone 13 | Tuesday, September 7th | Tuesday, September 14th | 7 days |
| iPhone 12 | Tuesday, October 6th | Tuesday, October 13th | 7 days |
| iPhone 11 | Thursday, August 29th | Tuesday, September 10th | 12th |
As you can see, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 have become strange, but 2020 and 2021 have been a difficult year to plan, taking into account the global pandemic and everything.
Apple is still favourite on Tuesday due to the announcement of the event and the date of the event. For the past three years, Apple has provided a consistent window for two weeks between announcing iPhone events and holding iPhone events.
For these reasons, we can expect Apple to become official this year on Tuesday, August 26th. It’s only three weeks from today. Of course, the dates of the event are only rumored for the moment, and speculations about the event’s announcement are based on historical patterns. So, everything is still in the air for now, but we’ll be seeing some clever event catchphrases later this month.
As of today, we are probably 12 days away from the event invitations actually released. In the meantime, the annual fake event invitations have already been made rounds.
If Apple accidentally leaks an invitation, then no one can believe it after years of these attention-grabbing fake events.
