
If you’re currently experiencing connectivity issues with your phone, you’re not alone. Verizon appears to be experiencing a major outage. The airline said its team was “fully deployed and focused on the issue.”
Verizon is also now promising to provide credits to affected users… here’s the latest information.

Verizon says the issue has been resolved.

Verizon shared another update. The carrier said it was “working tirelessly and making progress” to resolve the issue. It also said affected customers will be provided with account credits.

Verizon engineering teams continue to address today’s service disruption. Our team remains fully deployed and focused on the issue. We understand the impact this has on your daily life and remain committed to resolving this issue as quickly as possible.

T-Mobile is issued The following statement:
T-Mobile’s network keeps you connected, and we’ve made sure our network is working optimally. However, due to Verizon’s reported outages, customers may not be able to contact those using Verizon services at this time.
and AT&T:
Our network is solid. If we have a problem, it’s not us, it’s other people. Some things are out of our control!
Verizon is down for many customers
According to Downdetector data, the issue started just after 12pm ET/9am ET on Wednesday. There are reports on social media from affected users of all three carriers.
Verizon’s outage appears to be much more widespread and nationwide, affecting users on both the East and West Coasts.
Affected iPhone users with Verizon will see “SOS” in their status bar. This indicates that there is no cellular connection at all.
As Apple explains in a support document, SOS in the iPhone’s status bar means the device is not connected to a cellular network, but can still make an emergency call.
What’s probably going on is that the carrier that’s actually experiencing the failure is Verizon. Meanwhile, AT&T and T-Mobile customers face additional cross-network communication issues. There is no indication that AT&T and T-Mobile’s networks are actually down.
Verizon acknowledged the outage on social media today, saying:
We are aware of an issue impacting wireless voice and data service for some customers. Our engineers are dedicated and working to quickly identify and resolve issues. We understand how important a reliable connection is and apologize for any inconvenience.
