How Apple Watch can help people overcome ‘quit day’ with fitness goals

In today’s press release, Apple shared some interesting data about how Apple Watch can help users increase their physical activity levels in January. and Please maintain it properly until the new year.

This data was collected from approximately 100,000 participants in the Apple Heart and Movement Study over the past four years.

Apple explains that many people give up on their New Year’s fitness resolutions by the second Friday in January, or “Quitter’s Day.” But people who wear Apple Watch are much more likely to achieve their goals.

Apple says:

Following an annual decline in average exercise time during the November and December holidays, the average daily exercise time of Apple Watch users surveyed not only increased rapidly in January, but also continued to increase into the spring.

In the first two weeks of January, more than 60 percent of Apple Watch users increased their daily exercise time by more than 10 percent over their December average. Remarkably, many Apple Watch users maintained these exercise levels in the months following Quitter’s Day. almost 80% Among those who increased their exercise time, their increased physical activity levels were maintained until late January; 90 percent The proportion of this group also remained high from February to March.

This is a chart shared by Apple that shows trends in average exercise time for Apple Watch users over the past four years.

Apple today also highlighted a number of new features coming to Apple Fitness+ this month, including a new multi-week series of programs “designed to build momentum and maintain consistency in the new year.” The news comes after Apple Fitness+ expanded to more than 20 additional markets last month.

Apple is also holding its annual “Ring in the New Year” challenge for Apple Watch users this month. This challenge will run from January 7th to January 31st. Win a prize by closing all 3 activity rings for 7 consecutive days in January.
