Durin is working with Philips Home Access to turn the Philips 3000 Series Wi-Fi retrofit lock into something more like a door that simply recognizes you. The partnership will add true hands-free, cordless entry to existing locks and is expected to be rolled out in Q1 2026, marking Durin’s first full-scale foray into consumer smart access and home security.
Rather than asking homeowners to remove existing hardware, the Philips 3000 Series attaches to the inside of most standard deadbolts, adding Wi-Fi control behind the scenes while keeping the outside of the door intact. Durin’s Door Manager then joins the setup as a separate unit with its own cameras and connectivity, monitoring doorways and talking directly to the locksmith.
Once your face and phone are registered in the Durin app, the system will recognize when an authorized person approaches and automatically unlock your Philips 3000. Leveraging on-device facial matching, phone-based credentials, and the upcoming Aliro open standard for secure mobile access, consumers can access it without opening an app, entering a PIN, or fiddling with a key.
Durin also builds an audit trail. Each time a lock is unlocked, a snapshot from the door manager’s camera is attached and recorded in the app, giving homeowners a visual history.
Existing Philips 3000 Series owners can easily DIY install the door manager as a separate accessory, while new buyers will be offered a virtual bundle combining both products from the start. After installing the Philips 3000 retrofit lock and downloading the Durin app, users create an account, connect the door manager to Wi-Fi, and link it to their Philips Home Access profile. At this point, the system will automatically detect and pair the lock and auto-unlock.
The Philips 3000 series and Durin Door Manager package will be available in Q1 2026, and existing Philips 3000 users can join the standalone Door Manager waiting list.
