DIRECTV announced the app update in a blog post today.

DIRECTV’s Sports Central has long been available on DIRECTV devices as a built-in hub for finding and managing live sports. Now available to watch on the DIRECTV app. This update will be available for iOS devices immediately. Just open the App Store and tap Update.

The company highlights six key features of Sports Central on iPhone and iPad.
