Blink expands its smart home lineup with the launch of Blink Outdoor 2K+, bringing high-resolution video and the latest detection features to its battery-powered security camera series.
The new model updates Blink’s outdoor camera offering as budget smart security increasingly prioritizes image clarity, low-light performance, and tight integration with app-based monitoring.
Outdoor 2K+ bridges Blink’s 1080p battery cameras and high-end wired systems by providing sharper footage without changing the underlying power model.
It builds on Blink’s recent outdoor camera designs that prioritize long battery life and easy setup over advanced imaging.
Higher resolution, low-light color video
Outdoor 2K+ records video at 2K resolution and captures footage at 2560 x 1440 pixels. This provides clearer details when identifying visitors, couriers, or vehicles compared to previous Blink models.
Built-in 4x digital zoom allows users to inspect specific areas within the frame, increasing the camera’s usefulness in driveways, entry points, garden spaces, and more.
Blink has also improved low-light performance by using ambient light to enable color video in dimly lit environments, and switching to infrared black and white when light levels drop further.
This approach allows the camera to preserve color details such as clothing or vehicle paint in situations where traditional night vision would normally work out of the box.
Smarter alerts and audio features
With a Blink subscription plan, Outdoor 2K+ supports person and vehicle detection using on-device processing, allowing the system to distinguish between meaningful activity and common movement.
These smart alerts aim to reduce false notifications caused by pets, foliage, and weather. These are areas where low-cost battery cameras often have difficulty.
The camera also supports enhanced audio capabilities, allowing users to listen and respond to activity through the Blink app, keeping interactions within the same ecosystem used for live views and notifications.
Blink uses custom silicon to power Outdoor 2K+ to support advanced processing while maintaining long-term battery efficiency.
The company rates battery life at up to two years under typical conditions when recording at 1080p resolution with standard settings, consistent with Blink’s traditional emphasis on low-maintenance security.
The IP65-rated housing protects the camera from rain, dust, and inclement weather, and the compact design allows it to work indoors as well as outdoors.
Blink Outdoor 2K+ is currently available in black or white and costs £89.99 for a single camera system including Sync Module Core.
Users can also add local storage via Sync Module 2 using a USB drive (sold separately) or choose a Blink subscription plan to access up to 30 days of cloud storage for motion clips and live view recordings.
