Blink Outdoor 4 is finally available in the UK

First launched in the US at the end of 2023, the Blink Outdoor 4 has finally crossed the pond and will be available in the UK starting today.

Blink Outdoor 4, like its predecessor, offers two years’ worth of life from a pair of AA batteries.

Its lifespan of the new £69.99 smart security camera comes with a caveat that only makes it easy to detect movement, but even in busy areas of your home, the annual changes to AAS are not going to break the bank.

The Outdoor 4 is a full HD, 1080p camera, with visuals superior to the previous generation model thanks to its low light sensitivity and wider 143-degree field of view.

It boasts computer vision on the device, as processing is done on the device itself, with Blink’s custom-designed third-generation silicon.

However, this costs money. To take advantage of this new skill, you will need a Blink Premium plan.

There is a basic plan that allows cloud storage and video history for one camera at £2.50 per month, or £24 per year.

Step up and you’ll find a Plus plan that offers enhancements such as the ability to cover all Blink devices in one account and temporarily pause motion activation alerts for up to 24 hours for up to £8 per month.

Like previous Blink Cams, you can also use Amazon-owned branded Sync modules to store clips locally, such as the new sync module for cloud storage, Blink Sync module cores.

All Blink cameras integrate well with Alexa (obviously, if Blink is part of Amazon). You can view the feed on an Alexa-enabled screen and use the camera’s motion sensor as a trigger for your Alexa routine.

As it is currently sold in the UK, for one camera with a Sync module core, the Blink Cam Outdoor 4 costs $69.99. If you want to bundle it with your battery extension pack, it’s £89.99. There is also a discount on the multi-system camera bundle.
